Money Smart(er).

In May, I decided to boost my knowledge by enrolling in Boston University’s Online Program for Financial Planners. Today, I completed the second of six courses in the program, Insurance and Risk Management.
The course tackles a lot of topics I deal with daily in my writing life (examining different types of life insurance, for example), and some I don’t anticipate ever using (the rules regarding marketing of long-term care insurance).
Still, it’s nice to have these kinds of details at my disposal, because they help me craft better stories—and to see what important topics aren’t being covered enough in the media.
